A young college student, Hayden Barnes was expelled from Valdosta State University for speaking his concern over the building of a 35 million dollar parking garage, at a cost of 15 thousand dollars per parking space. After speaking with the Administration, Haydens was expelled for posting a collage on facebook. I found his story to be compelling, and a good example of how the bill of rights is relevant. Hayden, with the help of the Fire has a case against Valdosta State University and the Administrator responsible for his expulsion. You can see Fire's video chronicling Barnes' travails at VSU here:

The rights of all American Citizens are important. The Bill or Rights was enacted to protect these rights.

Power is not alluring to pure minds.- Thomas Jefferson

They who give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety. - Benjamin Franklin

Benjamin Franklin Thomas Jefferson

Our founding forefathers wanted to protect the rights of American Citizens and so they wrote the Bill or Rights. It's hard to imagine that what was written more than 200 years ago has any relevance today.
