Sheila Hart, president

Sheila Hart Design, Inc. has been in operation since 1996. Sheila attained her degree in Graphic Design at the University of Cincinnati in 1986. She worked her first years at such well-known design firms in New York as Fisher Design, Vignelli Associates, and Pentagram. Drawn back to her home in Cleveland, Ohio, she worked at Nesnadny + Schwartz before starting her own firm in 1996. Her business specializes in corporate branding collateral, marketing promotion, and publication design.

She teaches Design History and Perspectives at Kent State University (2008-present) and Cuyahoga Community College (1996-present). She has also guest lectured at Cleveland State University and the College of Wooster. Her work has been exhibited in major museums and galleries around the world and is part of the permanent collection at the Tokyo Museum of Modern Art.

Sheila has won numerous awards for design and has served on the Board for Cleveland Chapter AIGA in various positions, including President. She has also served on the Nominating Committee for the AIGA National Board and as a Representative on the Board of NOCA (Northern Ohio Communication Affiliates). She has been recognized as a NOISmaker (Northern Ohio Illustrator’s Society) for promoting local talent, and in 2007 she was honored with the prestigious AIGA Fellows Award for her advocacy of design in her hometown market.
