Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.
Translation:
As U.S. citizens, we are considered free to express ourselves, beyond the imposing influence of our government.

- The government can't tell you not to worship.
- Say what you want to say!
- Write what you want to write!
- Hang out with who you want to hang out with in peace.
- Feel free to criticize your government.
