Welcome to the Centre Pompidou!

Centre PompidouThe Pompidou Centre is a complex in the Beaubourg area of Paris near Les Halles and the Marais. It was designed by Renzo Piano, Richard Rogers and Sue Rogers, as well as Edmund Happold and Peter Rice. The Centre first opened on January 31, 1977. The Centre houses a vast public library, the Musee National d'Art Moderne and a center for music and acoustic research. The building itself features a unique modern architecture with a main staircase on the exterior of the building.

Visiting the Centre Pompidou

The Centre opens daily at 11:00am and closes at 9:00pm. Tickets for both the museum and all current exhibitions run around 12 Euros per person. Guided tours are available as well, times are posted near the ticket office. Prior to your visit you may want to visit their site to get an idea of what is in their art collection. The web site itself has nearly all of the works of art on display viewable online in a map format, that mimics the actual museum. (See reference link below.)
