The Model T was built by Ford Motors from 1908 to 1927. It
became affordable to most because of the assembly line which
Ford introduced in 1913, allowing mass production to bring
the price from $850 down to $300 in 1925. After 1913 Henry
Ford advertised that the car could be bought “in any color
you choose, so long as it’s black.” Ford’s production of the
Model T revolutionized American society, not only by manu-
facturing this motorized vehicle, but by perfecting the
assembly line process, allowing a Model T to be built every
24 seconds, selling it at an affordable price, and also
creating a new incredible hourly wage for his workers of
$5 a day !
