Sunday has become the day to do household chores, including watering the plants. We have 15-20 of them in various downstairs rooms, and I'm the guy that waters them and trims off the dead brown stuff.
I'm also the guy that vacuums the carpet, although not always on Sunday. I get a sense of satisfaction out of seeing it nice & clean, and vacuuming actually is something I enjoy—when it doesn't make me sneeze. Still searching for the perfect vacuum cleaner, though. I keep coming back to Hoover since overall they seem to work well, but this one has develop serious leakage around the dust collector seal, which means that it's blowing dust into the air instead of keeping it inside. I rebuilt the seal with silicone caulk, which worked fine for a couple of months. Now I think it's time for a new vacuum.
Sunday also is the day to visit with Mom and either take her to Marc's or do the shopping for her. I know that a better person than me would see this as something other than a chore, but unfortunately that's what it's become.
As clear as...?
I consider myself pretty computer savvy—after all, a lot of my life revolves around designing for them, using them, and teaching about both of the above. So you'd think that I'd have had an easy time figuring out which of my Messages were read and which were unread. I clicked on the Mark Read button over and over, with no apparent result. So I finally called the helpline and it took my friendly advisor there about 10 minutes to figure it out himself. It's not just me.
When you look at the screenshot above, you'll see a single, fairly subtle difference between the unread message and the others. Why make it so difficult to see? Color would have helped immensely. If the envelope changed color as well as shape the difference would be much easier to pick out.
How easily did you spot the different icons?
