Dubai - Another World

Turning sand into gold, it's amazing and interesting

In just over a decade, Dubai has built massive skyscrapers and gleaming malls, indoor ski slopes, world-class hotels with chilled swimming pools and man made islands. Coming soon to Dubai: the world's only shape-changing skyscraper, with individually rotating floors, an amusement park three times the size of Manhattan and a Versace-owned resort, complete with an air-conditioned beach. Dubai is one of the hottest development centers of the world.

Dubai extremely ambitious mega-projects

Burj Al Arab - the only 7 stars hotel in the world.

The hotel stands on an artificial island 280 metres (919 ft) out from Jumeirah beach, and is connected to the mainland by a private curving bridge. It is an iconic structure, designed to symbolize Dubai's urban transformation and to mimic the billowing sail of a boat.. It is one of the most expensive hotels in the world. The cost of staying in a suite around $7,500 to $15,000 per night.

Burj Dubai - the world tallest building

Currently under construction, it has already overtaken Taipei 101 to become the new World's Tallest Building. When completed in 2009 it will be over half a mile high, with 160 stories. That's like stacking 2 Empire State Buildings on top of each other

Ski Dubai - indoor winter season

Indoor skiing at Ski Dubai in the Mall of the Emirates, you can ski down the slope while everyone else is outside in an 85-100 F. Ski in the desert is an awful lot of fun

The World

The World is a collection of man-made islands shaped into the continents of the world, located off the coast of Dubai in the United Arab Emirates. It will consist of 300 small private artificial islands divided into four categories - private homes, estate homes, dream resorts, and community islands. The purchasing price of an island is an estimated average of 25 million, this Dubai mega-project is expected to be complete in 2008

Palm Islands

The largest artificial islands in the world, built by Dutch engineers who perfected their dredging technology in their constant battle for ground with the rising sea. Three of these islands are large enough to see from space, and swanky enough to attract wealthy buyers from all over the globe.

Dubai land - largest amusement park collection in the world

Dubailand is an enormous entertainment complex which will cover an area of 3 billion square feet. Dubailand contains of 45 projects and over 200 sub projects to create the ultimate tourist destination. Dubailand shall appeal to everyone regardless of age and nationality. The rotating tower

In skyscraper-crazy Dubai, tall isn't enough. In a design to be unveiled today in the oil-rich emirate, David Fisher, an Italian-Israeli architect, has dreamed up a 68-story tower where each floor individually rotates 360 degrees, causing the building's shape to constantly change, if successfully built will attract scores of tourists.
