Week Eleven of the Tri-C Web Publishing One class called for further examination of positioning in CSS with emphasis on understanding absolute positioning and creating blockquotes and pullquotes with floats. I deliberately did the assignment on multiple pages to have more opportunity to troubleshoot problems and give more thought to planning navigation and uniform styling. I tried to point out where you are by emphasizing the title of the page to which you navigate.

Chapter four of Build Your Own Website the Right Way Using HTML & CSS by Ian Lloyd and the accompanying work files allow students to traverse step by step through the positioning of elements of the sample Bubble Under website, experimenting with different types of positioning including absolute, relative and float.

The chapter touches briefly on elastic design and discusses the attributes of the boxmodel, an essential consideration in the design of every web page.

A link to a video from CSS Tricks about positioning floats and the accompanying written article are extremely helpful. The blockquote and pullquote article is Smashingly inspiring!
