Finally, I wanted to try something different yet again, this time including the About section up to pwith the logo/site name. Under that would be three small nav sections, then the sub-nav underneath. Above the footer though would be a large image, clearly dominating the page, and making it obvious to the viewer that this was a photography driven website. Not sure if that's ok or not, but just wanted to sketch it out and get some feedback. I'm thinking of a composite image of a few different places in DC there.
