Yes, it's Spring

I didn't comment on Spring's arrival this past Friday, but today these purple crocuses in the backyard refused to let me ignore them any longer.

Last year I spotted them on the 22nd, so like the swallows to Capistrano, these backyard regulars are right on time.

Kitchen progress

The corner of the kitchen that we've sort of had an eye on (March 16, March 21) is looking more finished.

Here you can see the beginnings of a sort of coffered ceiling idea that Danny came up with. The areas inside the planks will have a paneled look similar to the wainscoting that will be on the walls.

The large garden window that will go at right should arrive any day now. Having a window in that space will make a huge difference in the feel of the room. Right now it feels kind of closed in.
