Ingenious enough?
Late this evening—but still a full ten minutes before the midnight deadline—I hit "Send" to submit a proposal to this year's Ingenuity Festival.
Ingenuity is a locally-grown event that has in recent years taken over the lower level of the Detroit-Superior Bridge for a weekend of art, music and technology.
The proposal I sent involves the Ties To Cleveland project that our Interactive Media class has worked on all semester. We deliberately located the game routes within a one mile radius of the bridge so that it would fit with Ingenuity.
The first version of the game will be built around a website and maps that people can print out and take with them as they search for interesting and historic locations on the East and West sides of the bridge. The enhanced version, if we win funding from Ingenuity, will add a mobile app that people can use on their smartphones. They'll be able to see photos, video and listen to audio narrations while they're standing at the actual locations on the map.
