Powerpoint comes to life
If you've been to many meetings you've experienced what's called "Death by Powerpoint."
Speakers use the popular Microsoft software to create slides that are mind-numbingly boring and then make things even worse by reading you every word while they are projected on the screen.
An alternative is the person who discovers the "cool" animation effects in Powerpoint and uses them on every single slide. This won't put you to sleep, but it may make you run screaming from the room.
But today at our annual Faculty Colloquium I saw a totally unexpected use of Powerpoint. The speaker (above) staged a little skit with several audience participants. When they read their lines, his "thoughts" appeared on the screen behind him.
Fun, clever, not your usual Powerpoint presentation.
