One person can make a difference
Walking to Wendy Park today we passed a brand-new road sign. It doesn't happen often, but the sign is public evidence of the difference a single person can make.
Ed Hauser, who died recently (far too early at age 47) devoted a big part of his life to fighting to preserve public access to Whiskey Island, an oasis of nature along Cleveland's largely industrial lakefront. The fight wasn't short or easy, but Ed persisted
The city eventually came to appreciate Ed's efforts. Wendy Park is a wonderful new public space created on Whiskey Island, slightly east of Edgewater Park. This month the road to it was named Ed Hauser Way.
