Have you herd of 'em?
Real fans of the band Donna the Buffalo consider themselves part of The Herd, hence the line above that I saw on someone's T-shirt at the Beachland Ballroom.
Yes, it was probably a bad idea to go to hear them in concert on Wednesday night, given that Thursday is my noon-to-nine, three-classes-to-teach day. But still, a DtB concert is always fun and upbeat, and last night's was no exception.
The video (shot by someone else) gives you an idea of the vibe at these concerts. Try to ignore the poor audio quality and listen to the crowd singing along with this, one of DtB's most familiar tunes.
At a DtB concert the dancing starts with the first song and continues through the night, in this case for nearly two and a half hours.
The band played more extended jams than they've done in any of the previous shows I've seen. It seemed like a night that the band came to play, and the fairly small crowd loved it.
Three encores ended the night, and we went home happy.
