First tomato
So maybe it's more orange than red, but this tomato was ripe enough to be chopped and sauteed in olive oil with onions, lots of garlic, and all the basil leaves you see here and then some.
This fresh sauce went on top of Asiago cheese tortellini from Gus Gallucci for a simple and good dinner tonight. Also a basic green salad and chunks of multi-grain baguette from Christophers, smeared with garlic scape pesto and sprinkled with mozzarella cheese.
