Dream classroom
A quick team brainstorming project in Media Design class today was to plan and sketch out your "dream" learning environment.
Money and practicality were no object, and the four groups came up with a number of common features.
This one, with a lodge-like atmosphere that includes a moosehead on the wall and a bearskin rug on the floor, is my favorite.
Also on their list but not visible in the photo: large TV with PS3, hookah lounge, whiskey, and an earth tone color scheme with no white anywhere.
Other items that showed up frequently:
- music/sound system
- free food
- big windows and/or skylights
- comfy chairs
- lots of technology: big TVs, computers, tablets, etc.
- bulletin boards with samples of work
- posters
- smoking section
- A/C that's controllable
What's our current room like?
Pretty much the opposite of everything on the list: bland, white, neutral, with no natural light and A/C that either bakes or freezes you for a good part of the year.
