Happy New Year!
For the past 35 years or so we've had our one big party of the year on January 1st. What started as a brunch in 1974 gradually took over more and more of the day. Now the first guests arrive around 2 pm and the last go home about midnight.
It's always great to see old friends and make new ones, eat, drink, play cards and shmooze. In fact I can't think of a better way to start a new year.
