New view from 32
With a bit of luck, this view will be on the homepage before the weekend is over. After a gloomy morning the sun broke through, spotlighting a freighter leaving Cleveland harbor, seen from...drum roll, please...West 32 and Detroit. So this literally is the view from 32, a couple of blocks from my house.
It's not glamorous. You look across the Shoreway, across the roofs of the Division Avenue Water Plant, Cargill salt mine and huge piles of gravel between the street and the lake itself. Still it's a view I love and missed greatly while landlocked temporarily in Dayton (college at University of Dayton) and Indianapolis (teaching at Herron School of Art).
I still drive out of my way to go along the lake, and consider myself lucky.
