We just love our cars
Here's the scene when I stopped at East Coast Custard on the way home from class today: four cars idling in the drive-through line. Note the blue sky—it was a beautiful day.
As is my custom, I pulled around, parked, got out and walked up to the window.
I was eating my custard (Bear Claw today—yum) before the first car drove off. People in these cars waited for five minutes or more rather than getting their lazy butts out of the car and walking up to the window.
Drive-throughs: they waste gas, make you even fatter (Walk twenty feet? No way!) but we love 'em. I hope billions of Chinese don't develop this same pathology.
