Walkin' Cane plays the blues
Thursday night at the Parkview Nite Club was supposed to be Kristine Jackson and Austin "Walkin' Cane" in an acoustic set. Kristine didn't make it, but we got more than an hour of serious blues from Austin and a couple of different harmonica players.
My video is dark and grainy because the flashing lights on the coin-operated bowling machine behind the "stage" knocked the exposure out of whack. Still, it gives you a sense of Austin's guitar playing as well as the vibe of the place.
And ya gotta love the bowling machine—it's part of what makes the Parkview a great neighborhood dive. Week in and week out, cheap drinks, good food, and great music on Cleveland's West Side.
