It's cold now, and the forecast is for temperatures in the 20s tonight. Time to pick the last of the tomatoes and peppers from the garden.
This basketful of peppers, a mixture of hot and sweet, is destined to become onion-pepper relish. Not enough green tomatoes this year to repeat my green-tomato relish of last year.
Of all the peppers I planted, probably 6 varieties in all, only the Giant Marconis and the small hot peppers produced much. The Marconis—the long ones in the bowl—were both abundant and tasty, although not as good for stuffing as the more squarish standard bell peppers.
