Wind from the southeast

The wind today sounded pretty fierce as it whistled through the rigging of sailboats stored for winter at the Edgewater Yacht Club. It didn't feel as bad, probably because the temperature was in the 40s. Still, I had a stocking cap on and tied my winter coat's hood tightly around it.

Most days in Cleveland the wind blows in from Lake Erie, coming from the northwest. With today's gusts up to 35 mph the lake would be pretty choppy. But...as one disappointed wind surfer found out today at Edgewater Park...when the wind blows from the shore there are no waves at all.

Today I parked at the north end of W. 65th Street and walked under the railroad tracks to the park. After walking a couple of laps I headed back to 65th and all the way to Detroit Avenue for a cup of coffee at Gypsy Beans.
