A walk through the Flats: color, shape, texture

I wanted to get some exercise and go to the West Side Market, so I took the long way: down Franklin into the Flats, across the river and back up at the east end of the Lorain-Carnegie Bridge, then west across the bridge to the Market (click to see map).

Walking like this takes me back to my roots, in a sense. I love the colors, textures and shapes of the city, especially those parts that are mostly abandoned. What's left behind is the most interesting part. Graffiti, rusty steel, graffiti on rusty steel. Aged concrete amongst dried weeds, empty packages and scraps of paper.
