Waymarking
Via my friend Dave at Impact Communications, another take on the idea of telling stories about places: Waymarking.com. We might be able to connect this to GPS-based mediascapes that we've been working on recently, with limited success.
From the Waymarking website:
Waymarking is a way to mark unique locations on the planet and give them a voice....our goal is to give people the tools to help others share and discover unique and interesting locations on the planet.
Too soon to tell where this may lead, but it looks interesting. Google Maps once again seem to have sparked a new way to share information about our world...with the world.
