Drains to waterways
I guess it's a good thing that the grassroots campaign to warm people not to dump waste (think used motor oil, etc.) into sewers has gone mainstream.
I noticed the warning: "Drains to Waterways" that sometimes was stenciled onto curbs near sewer grates on this cast-iron grate on Tri-C Western Campus. There's even a cute little fishy to clue you in to the harm waste can do to wildlife.
So the East Jordan Iron Works should be applauded for making this addition to their product. I'm afraid, though, that it's so subtle that most people will overlook it.
