Mayflies
Last year we didn't see many mayflies, the harmless but sometimes annoying flying critters that hatch in Lake Erie and cluster on flat surfaces. This year we've had only a couple at the house itself, but in town they took over Caddyshack Square, home of the new coffee shop, the miniature golf course we frequent and several other small shops.
So far the invasion isn't as overwhelming as other years, but we'll see what tomorrow brings. We did get to crunch through a layer of dead mayflies as we crossed the street, a unique KI experience.
