Sunrise Saturday
The day started completely overcast—no sign of the sun at dawn or for the next few hours. By noon it was beautiful (see below).
Not quite
My goal was to finish this 1000+ piece puzzle during our vacation, but I didn't quite get there. I was only able to enlist help from one of our visitors, and Wally didn't stay long enough to make real headway (a couple of days just don't cut it).
It ended up about 2/3rds done, with a couple of solid-color sections and quite a bit of the outer border incomplete. Oh well.
Goodbye
After packing everything into the car—a process that always takes way longer than you think—we took the last of the gin, tonic, and lime down to the lake for our traditional parting visit.
The sun was bright, the breeze pleasant, and the company good. Joanne & I sat on our "gin & tonic rock" for a half hour or more before reluctantly packing the chairs into the car.
By the time we drove onto the ferry at 2:30, dark clouds were blowing in, and it rained furiously for most of the trip across.
