German feast
Tonight we feasted (no exaggeration) on local specialties at the Ampulle Bistro in Stuttgart. This platter held pork, beef, sausage, bacon, fingerling potatoes (a variety charmingly called Little Boy's Penis), fried potatoes and a several different side dishes.
The small bowl being passed around at top contains tripe, made from the first of a cow's three stomachs. It sounds disgusting, but smothered in a tasty sauce you couldn't see what it looked like, and it tasted pretty good.
Four of us ate an awful lot and left the platter far from empty.
Kathy buying tomatoes from the organic vegetable stand at the Ludwigsburg farmers' market. Reminded me of home and the West Side Market.
