DECEMBER 29, 2008
This photo of the Cuyahoga River with the Cleveland skyline in the background gives you a sense of the day. Glorious sun all day long, brilliant blue sky, a few clouds near the horizon. I ran from Edgewater to the river's edge at Wendy Park where I took five photos with my iPhone. Later I used Photoshop to stitch them together to get this panorama.
I'm still feeling the effects of my five mile run: sore muscles. The temperature was near-perfect, close to 50 degrees, but the wind from the West made it tough going at times. It was blowing a steady 20-25 mph with gusts up to 35. It's been a long time since I ran, possibly not since the 15th. That day I was able to keep a 10 min./mile pace. Today it was more than 11 minutes. The wind—and all the desserts I've eaten in the past week or so—took a toll on me. Oh well. It was a beautiful day to be out.
New TV, Pt. 2
Yesterday I complained about the picture quality on our new LCD TV; today I'm feeling more positive. I spent some time using the "Picture" menu to adjust the color settings and now the picture looks more acceptable than the harsh one created by the default settings.
